Casey Cleaver

Casey Cleaver is an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of W. Scott Smith. Casey’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, the 2017 College Football National Champions.*

Casey then went on to law school where he graduated from the nationally ranked Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Upon graduating law school, Casey was awarded Most Outstanding Advocate by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Casey also served as a marketing co-chair and event coordinator for CPILSA, Campbell Public Interest Law Students Association.

During law school, Casey was sworn in under the Third Year Practice Rule and represented the State of North Carolina within the District Attorney’s Office in Wilmington, North Carolina. While there, Casey had the privilege of working with and trying cases in front of the local defense bar, victims, witnesses, and district court judges. Casey also had the incredible opportunity to work for the Wake County Public Defender’s Office in his second year of law school. Casey is forever grateful to have experience in both defense and prosecution because he feels it provides him with a balanced and well-rounded approach in analyzing cases.

Casey has chosen this area of law because he firmly believes protecting the civil liberties and rights of others is a profession of the highest calling. He aspires to make a positive impact in people’s lives when they need it most.
